This is how you can block Pokemon GO mentions while browsing
Pokemon Go has spread all over the internet, It is on social media sites, search engines, blogs, and almost everywhere. It has became nearly impossible to browse the internet without seeing any Pokemon Go mention. However there is a way to block Pokemon Go mention from the internet.
I know it is a great breakthrough for those who are fan of Pokemon Go, but at the same time it has became very annoying for many people who don’t like this game at all.
Now if you are one of those who is tired of seeing Pokemon Go mentions everywhere on the internet, then this post is just for you.
How to Block Pokemon Go
There is now an open-source extension available for Google Chrome that will filter the web content that contains Pokemon Go. The extension is called PokeGone, with a quite catchy description – “Gotta block’em all.”.
The extension is currently available for Chrome Browser only, but it can also be installed on Mozilla Firefox, and Opera with a little trick.
Just go to this link, and install the extension from Chrome Web Store. When installation is compete, click on the extension button in the toolbar, and select your desired filter type. There are three options to choose from: Vindictive, Aggressive, Mild.
Here is the detail of what each option does:
It is the minimal option that only works on phrases, and paragraphs that contain the word Pokemon Go. It can make the browsing a little confusing, because sometimes it just leaves the posts half, but its still a good option if you don’t want to remove all content.
Just like its name, this mode is aggressive, and removes those sections completely where Pokemon Go is mentioned. It is useful if you don’t want to see a single trace of Pokemon Go mention. If you are annoyed by social media posts about Pokemon Go , then this option is best for you.
Now this option is beyond aggressive, and removes all the content of a website that contains a hint of Pokemon GO. We don’t recommend this option, but you can go on and give it a try.
The Pokemon Gone extension also keeps a track of how many pages were filtered, and how many words were blocked while browsing.
The extension works great, and at present the best option to get rid of everything related to Pokemon Go. Its better to start with the mild mode, so that you don’t miss out something.
Please let us know what do you think about this awesome extension, and how much it helps you.
